Los vinos Abadal han sido valorados por el crítico, periodista y prescriptor de vinos norteamericano Stephen Tanzer, que ha publicado las nuevas puntuaciones correspondientes al año 2013. Sobre un techo de 100 puntos, dos vinos Abadal han sido calificados con 90 puntos: Abadal Picapoll 2012 y Abadal 5 Merlot 2009.
2012 Abadal Picapoll Pla de Bages (100% picapoll): Light, bright gold. Aromas of poached pear, honeydew, white flowers and sweet butter, lifted by a gingery topnote. Smooth, open-knit orchard fruit and melon flavors pick up a refreshingly bitter quality with air. Closes spicy and long, with a sneaky mineral quality adding dryness and cut. I like this wine’s interplay of richness and vivacity. 90 points
2009 Abadal Merlot 5 Pla de Bages (100 % Merlot) : Opaque ruby. Sexy dark berries, oak and flowers on the nose and in the mouth. Smooth, sweet and seamless, with excellent clarity and a whiplash of spicy dark fruits on the finish. Tannins come on late but the fruit absorbs them quickly. This suave merlot can run with many higher priced versions from California. 90 points
