The harvest in Bages has come to an end with a very positive balance, both in quality and in overall development. After several years marked by drought and extreme temperatures, this has been a vintage of balance, with climatic conditions that have favoured even ripening and excellent grape health. Generous rainfall (twice the usual annual average) and a cooler-than-usual July have been key to this harvest.
At the winery, the harvest began on 26 August with the earliest white varieties, such as sauvignon blanc and chardonnay. It was followed by macabeu and picapoll, in a staggered harvest lasting three to four weeks, aiming for different profiles depending on the ripeness and personality of each plot. The red varieties started later with merlot and a small part of mandó, seeking a fresher expression of the grape, and concluded with the cabernets and the last terraces of mandó.
Overall, the harvest in Bages has developed with moderate yet balanced yields and very high grape quality, promising fresh wines with strong aromatic potential and elegant structure. A vintage that confirms the adaptability of Bages vineyards and their ability to express, year after year, the authenticity of a living landscape.
