Within the framework of Barcelona Wine Week 2026, the ranci wine Abadal Sagristia C-1 was one of six wines selected by international critics Tim Atkin MW and Fintan Kerr for a tasting focused on trends in Catalan wines.
The session, organised by the Associació Vinícola Catalana, forms part of the preview of the upcoming Catalunya Special Report 2026, to be released on 9 April, and positions Sagristia C-1 as a distinctive reference within the presented selection, highlighting the value and character of long-established wine styles.
Atkin analysed the current situation of Catalunya’s wine sector and the evolution of Catalan wines, as well as the directions that will shape their international future. During his talk, he underlined the high quality level achieved, the diversity of territories and styles, and the growing international recognition of Catalan still wines.
