Abadal is taking part in the R-CIRCULA project, a collaborative initiative led by INNOVI and the Packaging Cluster, with the support of ACCIÓ, aimed at advancing circular economy models in the wine sector.
The project’s objective is to develop and validate a temporary or reversible marking system for reusable glass bottles that maintains traceability during use while allowing the marking to be removed safely and efficiently during industrial washing.
This line of work addresses one of the main technical barriers to scaling up packaging reuse and aims to help reduce waste and CO2 emissions, save material and energy resources, and generate a model that can be replicated in other sectors.
The project includes the participation of Framun -a company originating from Macsa-, POTS and Abadal, representing different links in the reusable packaging value chain.
