From February 2 to 4, Abadal participated in the Barcelona Wine Week, the leading trade fair for Spanish wine, where the winery’s wines took center stage in several key activities.
One of these was the tasting session “History and uniqueness: recovered native grape varieties in Catalonia”, where Miquel Palau, the winery’s winemaker and technician of the D.O. Pla de Bages, delved into the revival and journey of the Mandó grape variety, accompanied by a tasting of Abadal Mandó.
Additionally, both Abadal Mandó and Abadal Picapoll were featured at “La Nit dels Sommeliers”, an event organized by the Catalan Association of Sommeliers (ACS), which this year was integrated into the fair’s official program.
Another highlight of the event was the self-guided Wine Tasting Journey, which showcased 80 wines selected by an expert committee, focusing on the theme “Old vines, historical heritage”. Among the chosen wines was Abadal Arboset, a wine produced in the Arboset vineyard and fermented in a dry-stone vat located within the vineyard itself.
During the fair, the new edition of La Vanguardia’s 2025 Wine Guide was also presented, featuring some of the most outstanding wines. Among them was Abadal 3.9 Vi de Finca Qualificada, which received an excellent score of 94 points.
