Abadal Nurva, the essence of the Pla de Bages forest turns rosé

Fresh and modern, Abadal’s new wine is made from the historic varieties mandó, sumoll, and picapoll negra and has been presented at Barcelona Wine Week.

Abadal Nurva is a wine born from Abadal’s commitment to continuing its work in recovering traditional Bages varieties, a journey that began in 1983 with the founding of the winery and the recovery of picapoll and mandó as key representatives.

A vibrant and contemporary rosé that captures the essence of Abadal and its unique landscape, where terraced vineyards coexist with the Mediterranean forest. In the glass, the distinctive characteristics of each variety stand out: mandó brings elegance and freshness, sumoll adds acidity and minerality, and picapoll negra contributes delicate nuances.

Its aromatic profile blends aniseed notes of fennel and Mediterranean herbs, softened by subtle hints of red fruit and light spicy undertones. On the palate, it stands out for its vibrant acidity, freshness, and balanced nuances, offering an elegant and gastronomic wine.

After a short cold maceration, the wine is aged on its lees for 2-3 months, adding creaminess. Additionally, 10% of the wine undergoes a light aging of 3 months in 500-litre oak barrels, enhancing its structure and adding greater volume on the palate.
