Abadal has become the first European winery to incorporate the Fire Wine label, an initiative promoted by the Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia (CTFC). This certification recognizes producers committed to the sustainable management of the land and their importance as protectors of the landscape. The project highlights mosaic landscapes as a key element in addressing major wildfires in the context of the climate emergency.
The signing of the agreement took place on 23 September in Abadal’s vineyards, with the participation of Antoni Trasobares, director of the CTFC; Ramon Roqueta and Miquel Palau, owner and winemaker of Abadal, respectively; and the coordinators of the Fire Wine initiative, Elena Górriz and Soazig Darnay.
