At the contest, only three Spanish wines made with Merlot grape stood out among the best in the world, obtaining medals -one silver and two gold medals- . Among the two golds, the one awarded to the Abadal Cinc 2019.
The master of wine Patricia Stefanowicz talks about the results of the contest in the Drinks Business Media (UK), where she highlights that “the Merlot variety can be a challenge for oenologists, but the best wines really shine”.
Abadal Cinc is made with 5 merlots from 5 different plots of land, to elaborate a unique wine, each providing the special characteristics of their own vineyard. On the nose, balsamic, spices and cocoa, and on the mouth, raspberries and cherries blended in a sublime complexity of the terrain.
Global Wine Masters Competitions began to promote the best wines in the world in 2013. Every tasting identifies the best examples of its category of grapes, among wines from all over the world and range of prices. The blind tastings are carried out by judges such as Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers and senior buyers.
