The 2025 ABC Wine Guide has just been released, featuring a selection of over 450 wines chosen and reviewed by sommelier Pilar Cavero. Among the selected wines, ABC awards 96 points to the ranci wine Abadal Sagristia C-1, highlighting it as “the underground treasure housed in Masia Roqueta, with barrels of ranci wine that have preserved a marvelous heritage. One of those wines that makes time stand still.”
The guide also features Abadal Nuat 2021, rated 94 points, with critics praising “its ten-month aging on selected lees, a pronounced sense of fennel and aromatic herbs, with volume and density that promise a bright future.” Additionally, Abadal 3.9 2019 was rated 92 points, with comments noting “its twenty-five vintages” and describing it as “deep and long, to be enjoyed without haste.”
On November 18 and 19, the Salón de los Mejores Vinos de España (Best Wines of Spain Fair) took place, showcasing the best wines featured in the upcoming edition of the Guía Peñín. Among them were the ranci wine Abadal Sagristia C-1 and Dolç de Foc Flama, both rated 95 points, as well as Abadal Arboset 2019, which received 94 points.
The latter, Abadal Arboset, was also awarded a Gold Medal at the Mondial des Vins Extrêmes competition, which is reserved for wines produced in mountain regions or from heroic viticulture -terraced or steep vineyards with slopes exceeding 30% or located at altitudes above 500 metres- This competition recognizes unique wines with extraordinary personality.
Finally, the renowned American wine critic James Suckling has selected and rated several wines from the winery: 93 points for Abadal 3.9 2020, 92 points for Abadal Nuat 2021 and Abadal Cinc 2020—which also received 93 points in the new edition of the Guía Proensa—and 91 points for Abadal Mandó.
