Abadal pairs music and wine at Vitels, the new festival in Barcelona’s hotels

From March 13 to 16, eight unique spaces in iconic Barcelona hotels hosted the first edition of Vitels, a festival that brings together music and wine in extraordinary settings. At each session, the audience enjoyed an intimate concert with local artists, paired with wines and cavas from Catalan wineries.

On Thursday, March 13 at 6:30 p.m., the pairing between pianist and composer Laura Andrés and Abadal wines was presented. The event took place in the Saló de les Sirenes at Hotel España, a jewel of Catalan Modernism restored by architect Lluís Domènech i Muntaner, notable for its stunning marine mural inspired by The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Hokusai. During the session, the audience had the opportunity to taste Abadal Picapoll, Abadal Nurva, Abadal Mandó, and Abadal Cinc, harmonized with a live performance by Laura Andrés.

The festival featured eight hotels (Cotton House Hotel, Hotel España, Continental Palacete, Granados 83, Regina, ME Barcelona, H10 Casa Mimosa, and The Barcelona EDITION), eight performances by local artists (Joan Chamorro & Èlia Bastida, Laura Andrés, Panot Horns, Anna Tréa, Memi Sillah, SwingTonics, Facundo Muñoz, and Susana Sheiman), and eight Catalan wineries (Abadal, Torelló Viticultors, Juvé & Camps, La Vinyeta, Vinyes Domènech, Vallformosa, Castell del Remei, and Familia Torres).
