On Friday the 9th of June, at 7h30 pm, the Abadal Cellar will offer a pairing as revolutionary and sweet as it is sublime.
The attendees will be able to enjoy a tasting of 5 types of cheesecake from Jon Cake, paired with 5 Abadal wines. The tasting will be conducted by Jon Garcia, Pastry chef and founder of Jon Cake, and Marta Membrives, sommelier of Abadal.
The story of Jon Cake is the story of a young entrepreneur who, with his passion and experience (he has been part of Celler de Can Roca, Casa Garras, La Tasquería and Lera), began his own project during the pandemic: to try to cook and perfect the recipe of the famous and admired Basque cheesecake, creating his own, and searching for their ideal texture and balance.
Classical, Manchego PDO, Valdeón PGI, Smoked Idiazábal CO or Cabrales PDO are examples of the cheese delicacies that form part of his selection of cakes. He currently owns two shops in Barcelona, one in the Born and the other in the Les Corts neighbourhoods, where he sells his cheesecakes, which are baked daily.
